Tymor yr Haf o’r diwedd!

Finally, the Summer term has arrived!

Thema Cyfnod Allweddol 2 yn ystod Tymor yr Haf yw ‘Iechyd Da’. Mi fyddwn ni yn nosbarth Titw Tomos Las yn astudio nifer o bynciau diddorol. Yn amrywio o brif organau'r bodau dynol, dannedd a phwysigrwydd iechyd, i hanes a celf y Celtiaid. Mi fyddwn hefyd yn mwynhau ymchwilio i mewn i’r tywydd. Yn ein gwersi Cymraeg rydyn yn dysgu stori ‘Sioncyn y gwair a’r Morgrugyn, a ffilm ‘Paddington’ yn Saesneg. Mi fyddwn yn parhau gyda grwpiau Mathemateg ar ôl y profion cenedlaethol sy’n digwydd ar ddechrau mis Mai.

Our theme in Key Stage 2 this term is `Good Health`. Titw Tomos Las will be studying a number of exciting subjects. These will include major organs of the body, teeth and the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle. We will also be studying the weather. In our Welsh lessons we are learning the story about the Grasshopper and the Ant, and the film Paddington in English. We will continue our Mathematic groups following the national tests that are being held at the beginning of May.

Mi fyddwn yn cynnal gweithgareddau Addysg Gorfforol ar brynhawn Ddydd Mercher. Bydd cyfleoedd i’r plant ymarfer athletau a tenis. Mae’n bwysig bod pawb yn cofio dod â dillad addas. Yn nhymor yr haf mae hefyd angen cofio treiners oherwydd mi fyddwn yn dysgu yn yr awyr agored. Yn ogystâl â hyn, mae’r ysgol i gyd am gerdded neu redeg Kilometr bob dydd. sef tair gwaith o amgylch y cae!

Our PE day will be on Wednesday - this term we will develop our tennis skills and  practice athletics. Please remember to send trainers to school to help with outdoor activities. As well as this, the whole school will be walking or running a kilometer every day, three laps of our field!

Mae disgwyl i’r plant parhau i ymarfer darllen pob nos er mwyn gwella sgiliau a symud ymlaen yn y gyfres darllen. Hefyd, bydd gan y plant cyfle i ddewis llyfr ychwanegol, er mwyn mwynhau ac ennyn diddordeb. Hefyd, mae angen i blant parhau i ymarfer llawysgrifen, tablau a sillafu. Mae disgwyl i’r plant cyflawni tasgau gwaith cartref dros y penwythnos i safon uchel os gwelwch yn dda.

The pupils are expected to read every night to develop skills and move on the in the reading scheme. The pupils will be able to choose extra books for them to enjoy and develop personal interests in reading. Children are also expected to continue to practice handwriting, times tables and spelling.

Croeso yn ôl a blwyddyn newydd dda i chi. Rydyn yn edrych ymlaen at fwynhau anturiaethau tymor y Gwanwyn.

Welcome back and a happy new year to you all. We are looking forward to the adventures that the spring term has in store for us.

Mi fyddwn ni yn parhau gydag ein diwrnodau prysur. Gan ddechrau gyda sesiwn byr ymarfer llawysgrifen. Y tymor yma mi fydd rhai plant yn barod i ddefnyddio pen i wneud eu gwaith. Mae'n rhaid dysgu ysgrifennu gyda llawysgrifen taclus glwm heb wneud llawer o gamgymeriadau cyn ennill trwydded pen. Ar ôl hynny mi fydd sesiynau iaith yn dechrau. Rydyn yn edrych ymlaen at ddysgu fersiwn Pie Corbett o stori Melangell a mwynhau dilyniant o wersi Saesneg ar ‘Fairytales’. Ar ôl hynny rydyn yn rhannu i mewn i grwpiau mathemateg, rhai yn dysgu gyda fi (Miss Clement), Mrs Davies/Tricker neu Mr Morgan. Cyn cinio mi fyddwn yn rhannu i mewn i grwpiau darllen Cymraeg a Read Write Inc.

We will continue with our very busy daily routines. Beginning our day with a short handwriting practice session. This term some children will be ready to use a pen to do their work, handwriting needs to be neatly joined with minimal mistakes before earning a pen licence. After that language sessions will begin. During our Welsh sessions will be learning Pie Corbett’s version of ‘Stori Melangell’ and we will enjoy a series of lessons on Fairy tales in our English sessions. After language, children will separate into Maths groups with either me (Miss Clement), Mrs Davies/Tricker or Mr Morgan. We will then meet with our Welsh reading/Read Write Inc. groups before lunch.

Yn y prynhawn rydyn yn ffocysu ar waith thema. Thema Cyfnod Allweddol 2 yn ystod Tymor y Gwanwyn yw ‘Glanlanwyr’. Mi fyddwn yn dysgu am gelf a cherddoriaeth Affricanaidd a chwilio am ei leoliad ar glôb a map. Rydyn am gymharu gwlad Affricanaidd a Chymru o ran maint, economi a thywydd. Yn ein gwersi Hanes edrychwn ymlaen at ddysgu am y Tuduriaid. Mae gwersi Addysg Gorfforol yn digwydd ar brynhawn Ddydd Mercher. Rydyn ni’n mynd i fwynhau gwersi gymnasteg y tymor yma. Mae’n bwysig fod pawb yn cofio dod â dillad ymarfer corff sef siorts du a chrys-t gwyn. Rydyn ni hefyd yn lwcus i fynychu gwersi nofio am bythefnos yn Aberfan. Cyfle i ddysgu neu gwella ein sgiliau nofio.

During the afternoon we focus on our thematic work. Our theme in the spring term is 'Castaways'. We will be learning about African Art and Music and its location on a globe and map. We will be making comparisons of an African country and Wales, looking at size, economy and weather. In our History lessons we look forward to learning about the Tudors. Physical education lessons take place on a Wednesday afternoon. We will be doing Gymnastics this term. It is important that everyone brings a pair of black shorts and a white t-shirt in every week.  We are also lucky to have the chance to attend swimming lessons  two weeks. A chance to learn and improve  our swimming skills.

Unwaith bod y plant yn barod, byddant yn gorffen y gyfres darllen ac mi fydd llawer o lyfrau stori ddiddorol a hwyliog ar gael i ddewis a mynd adref. Yn y ffeil cartref bydd cyfleoedd i blant ymarfer llawysgrifen, sillafu a thablau lluosi yn y tŷ yn ystod yr wythnos. Mae disgwyl i’r plant cyflawni tasgau gwaith cartref dros y penwythnos i safon uchel os gwelwch yn dda. Rydw i’n casglu gwaith cartref ar Ddydd Mawrth.

Children are expected to continue practicing their reading every night in order to better their skills and move on in the reading scheme. Once the children are ready they will finish the reading scheme and will be able to choose some interesting and exciting books from the class to take home and read. In the home file there will be opportunities for the children to practice handwriting skills, spelling and multiplication tables at home during the week. The children are expected to complete homework tasks over the weekend to a high standard please. I will be collecting homework on Tuesdays.

Sbarc a Seren ydyn ni! Byddwn ni’n gymeriadau pwysig iawn ym mywyd eich plant yn ystod y misoedd nesaf. Ni yw cymeriadau swyddogol y Siarter Iaith.

Beth yw’r Siarter Iaith?

Nod y Siarter Iaith yw annog plant i siarad Cymraeg yn amlach mewn sefyllfaoedd cymdeithasol. Llywodraeth Cymru sy’n gyfrifol am arwain y Siarter, ac yn eu geiriau nhw, ‘Mewn gair, ysbrydoli ein plant a’n pobl ifanc i ddefnyddio’u Cymraeg ym mhob agwedd o’u bywydau’ yw’r nod. Dros y tair blynedd nesaf, bydd pob plentyn ym mhob ysgol Gymraeg yn cael cyfle i ennill gwobr efydd, arian ac aur. Mae hyn yn dibynnu ar faint o Gymraeg maen nhw’n ei siarad o ddydd i ddydd - mewn sefyllfaoedd amrywiol yn yr ysgol a’r gymuned. Mae’r Siarter Iaith yn gyfle i bawb yng nghymuned yr ysgol chwarae eu rhan wrth hyrwyddo’r defnydd o’r Gymraeg - cyngor yr ysgol, y disgyblion, y gweithlu, rhieni, llywodraethwyr a’r gymuned ehangach er mwyn sicrhau perchnogaeth lawn o’r iaith.

Beth yw manteision y Siarter Iaith?

Rydych chi eisoes wedi dewis addysg Gymraeg i’ch plentyn ac yn deall manteision medru siarad dwy iaith. Mae cywirdeb iaith yn holl bwysig yn nhermau cyrhaeddiad addysgol plant. Y ffordd orau o sicrhau hyn wrth eich bod chi, fel cymuned yr ysgol, yn annog eich plentyn i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ar bob cyfle posibl.

Rydym ni yn gyffrous iawn i weithio gyda phob rhiant i gynyddu faint o Gymraeg sy’n cael ei siarad ym mhob ysgol. Edrychwch mas am ddigwyddiadau cyffrous yn fuan iawn!

Hello Parents,

We are Sbarc and Seren. You are sure to see a lot of us around the school over the coming months. We are the official characters for the Welsh Language Charter.

What is the Welsh Language Charter?

The main aim of the charter is to create an increase in the children’s social use of Welsh. We want to inspire our children and young people to use Welsh in every aspect of their lives. Over the next three years the school will have the opportunity to win a bronze, silver and gold award. The Welsh Language Charter asks for a contribution from every member of the school community – the pupils, the school council, the staff, the parents, the governors and the community.

What are the advantages of the Charter?

Raising the standard of the children’s spoken Welsh will have a positive effect on their educational attainment. Research shows that bilingual children achieve better results.

Welcome to our class, Titw Tomos Las.

There are 24 of us altogether!

Yn ystod y diwrnod mi fydd plant yn brysur iawn! Yn y bore rydyn yn gwneud gwaith iaith. Y tymor yma mi fyddwn ni’n dysgu am stori Gelert ac yn mwynhau nofel Roald Dahl ‘The BFG’. Ar ôl hynny rydyn yn rhannu i mewn i grwpiau mathemateg., rhai yn dysgu gyda fi (Miss Clement), Mrs Davies/Tricker neu Mr Morgan. Cyn cinio mi fyddwn yn rhannu i mewn i grwpiau Read Write Inc.

During the days we will be very busy! First thing in the morning we will be doing language work. In Welsh we will learn about ‘Stori Gelert’, and we will enjoy Roald Dahl’s ‘The B.F.G’ in English lessons. After language, children will separate into Maths groups with either me (Miss Clement), Mrs Davies/Tricker or Mr Morgan. We will then meet with our Read Write Inc. groups before lunch.

Yn y prynhawn rydyn yn ffocysu ar waith thema. Thema Cyfnod Allweddol 2 yn ystod Tymor yr Hydref yw ‘Teithio trwy’r Ganrif’. Mi fyddwn ni yn Nosbarth Titw Tomos Las yn teithio yn ôl mewn amser i gyfnod yy 80au a’r 90au. Byddwn yn dysgu sut i greu llinell amser a nifer o agweddau eraill yn amrywio o ddillad a thegannau i gerddoriaeth a dawnsio. Byddwn yn argraffu patrymau a chreu graffiti yn ein gwersi Celf a dysgu am Masnach deg wrth astudio Daearyddiaeth. Yn ein gwersi Gwyddoniaeth byddwn yn ymchwilio i Grymoedd.

During the afternoon we focus on our thematic work. Our theme in the Autumn term is ‘Travelling through the century’. We will be travelling back to the 80s and 90s. We will be learning to create timelines and studying numerous aspects varying from fashion to toys, music and dancing. We will be printing and creating graffiti in our art lessons and learn about Fairtrade in Geography. In our Science lessons we will be researching Forces.

Mae gwersi Addysg Gorfforol yn digwydd ar brynhawn Ddydd Mercher. Rydyn ni’n mynd i fwynhau gwersi dawns y tymor yma. Mae’n bwysig fod pawb yn cofio dod â dillad ymarfer corff sef siorts du a chrys-t gwyn.

Mae disgwyl i’r plant cyflawni tasgau gwaith cartref  yng nghefn y llyfrau dros y penwythnos i safon uchel os gwelwch yn dda. Rydw in casglu gwaith cartref ar Ddydd Mawrth.
