Cymryd plant allan o'r ysgol yn ystod y tymor

Yn Rhyd y Grug rydym yn cydnabod mai’r ffordd orau o sicrhau bod myfyrwyr yn cyflawni’r gorau y gallant yw trwy fod yn yr ysgol bob diwrnod ysgol. Mae absenoldeb yn cael effaith sylweddol a niweidiol ar ddysgu. Ni chaiff penaethiaid ganiatáu unrhyw ganiatâd i fod yn absennol yn ystod y tymor oni bai bod amgylchiadau eithriadol.

Mae’n bwysig nodi y gall penaethiaid bennu hyd yr absenoldeb awdurdodedig, yn ogystal ag a yw absenoldeb wedi’i awdurdodi o gwbl. Mae’r egwyddorion sylfaenol ar gyfer diffinio eithriadol yn brin, yn arwyddocaol, neu’n anochel, sy’n golygu na fyddai’n rhesymol i’r digwyddiad gael ei drefnu ar adeg arall. Bydd amgylchiadau lle gall absenoldebau gael eu hystyried yn rhai eithriadol yn amrywio o ysgol i ysgol ac o deulu i deulu.

Sylwer, fodd bynnag, nid oes unrhyw hawl gyfreithiol i gael amser i ffwrdd yn ystod tymor ysgol i fynd ar wyliau ac yn y mwyafrif o achosion ni ellir awdurdodi gwyliau.

Mae angen i rieni/gwarcheidwaid sy’n dymuno gwneud cais am ganiatâd i fod yn absennol lenwi Ffurflen Gais Absenoldeb ymlaen llaw a chyn gwneud unrhyw drefniadau teithio (ar gael trwy'r linc isod). Os cymerir gwyliau yn ystod y tymor heb ganiatâd blaenorol gan yr ysgol, bydd yr absenoldeb yn anawdurdodedig ac os bydd nifer y sesiynau absenoldeb yn cyrraedd y trothwy yng Nghod Ymddygiad Hysbysiad Cosb (10 sesiwn o absenoldeb ar 12 wythnos ysgol), gall rhieni/gwarcheidwaid gael hysbysiad cosb neu gamau cyfreithiol eraill. Taking children out of school during term time

At Ysgol Rhyd y Grug we recognise that the best way to ensure students achieve the best they can is by being in school every school day. Absence has a significant and detrimental effect on learning. Regulations state that head teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

It is important to note that head teachers can determine the length of the authorised absence, as well as whether absence is authorised at all. The fundamental principles for defining exceptional are rare, significant, or unavoidable, which means the event could not reasonably be scheduled at another time. Circumstances where absences may be regarded as exceptional will vary from school to school and family to family.

Please note that there is, however, no legal entitlement for time off in school term time to go on holiday and in the majority of cases holiday cannot be authorised.

Parents/Guardians wishing to apply for leave of absence need to fill in an Absence Application Form in advance and before making any travel arrangements (available from the school office and link below). If term-time leave is taken without prior permission from the school, the absence will be unauthorised and if the number of sessions of absence reaches the thresholds (10 sessions of absence on 12 school weeks), parents/guardians may be issued with a penalty notice or other legal action.
