Croeso i dymor yr Haf.  Fel tymor diwetha' mae llawer o waith i'w cyflawni. Eto mae ein gweithgareddau iaith yn digwydd gyda'r pwyslais yn ein sesiynau darllen ar ddarllen a deall grwp. Fe fyddwn yn ymgyfarwyddo a ffeindio gwybodaeth perthnasol i gwestiynau penodol. Fe fyddwn yn ymarfer ar gyfer y profion iaith yn ein sesiynau darllen. Mae'n hynod bwysig felly bod darllen rheolaidd yn digwydd yn y ddwy iaith adref. Rydw i'n annog y plant felly i gofnodi eu hunain yn eu cofnod darllen bob tro maent yn darllen. 

Fe fydd ein hysgrifennu estynedig yn Saesneg wedi'i selio ar y nofel The Butterfly Lion gan Michael Morpurgo a'n hysgrifeenu Cymraeg ar YMorgrugyn a' Sioncyn y Gwair.

Yn ein hail sesiwn bore fe fyddwn yn dysgu mathemateg. Ni fyddwn yn newid dosbarthiadau ar gyfer y sesiynau maths tan ar ol y profion cenedlaethol. Hyd yn hyn rydyn ni wedi adolygu rhif, gwerth lle, ffracsiynau, data, amser, lluosrifau a deiagramau Carroll a Venn. Fe fyddwn  yn neud mwy o waith ar ddefnyddio bondiau rhif i weithio allan symiau sy'n fwy, yn ogystal a phroblemau arian ag amser.

Mae pynciau diddorol i'w hastudio yn thematig. Y Celtiaid, dannedd ac organebau, cerddorieth Celtaidd  a chynefinoedd Cymru.

Fe fyddwn yn gwneud gemau ag athletau yn ein gwersi ymarfer corff ar bnawn Dydd Iau y tymor yma, felly fe fydd angen dillad addas ar gyfer y tu fas yn enwedig sgidiau addas i redeg y tu fas.

Fe fydd myfyrwraig yn ein dosbarth y tymor yma yn helpu i ddysgu'r plant.

 Welcome to this Summer Term. As with the previous term, there is much ground to cover. We will be doing language activities before morning break each day. Our emphasis this term in our reading sessions is reading and comprehension. We will be practising for the national tests for the next couple of weeks.The children will hopefully develop their skills of finding relevant information in various texts. It all the more important therefore this term for the children to read regularly at home in both languages. I have encouraged the children to record in their reading record each time they read. You are also welcome to keep record alongside them. Most of the children are keen readers and are already enjoying this responsibility. Our extended writing in English will be based on The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo and our Welsh extended writing on The Ant and the grasshopper.

After playtime, we split up for maths. We will not be doing this for the next couple of weeks as we will be concentrating on familiarising the children with the format of the national tests for year 3. We do a lot of mental and practical maths activities. We have already covered place value, addition, reading and recording data on Venn and Carroll Diagrams and tables. We will be doing more work on number bonds and how they can help the children to do larger sums. Also, problems involving money and time.

Our games lessons this term will be on a Thursday afternoon and we will be going outside when the weather permits to do games and athletics. We encourage the children to wear shorts in the fine weather and longer tracksuit bottoms when it's colder but always appropriate outdoor footwear. 

Our theme this term is Iechyd Da which translates Good Health. We will be studying teeth and human organs, The Celts, Celtic music and habitats.

We will have a student in our class this term helping to teach the children.

Welcome back! We are looking forward to the new spring term. yet again there will be a lot of interesting work going on with the opportunity to learn new skills that relate to the various subjects and themes. Our extended writing tasks will be focussed in Welsh on another Welsh legend called Melangell. we will be learning to relate it in the style of Pie Corbett. We'll be looking into animal rights and learning to express a balanced opinion. The legend also shows the connection that there would have been between Wales and Ireland during the Age of the Saints and Princes of Wales. In our English lessons, we will be focussing on fairy tales. we will be looking at the elements in them. We'll have fun reading Roald Dahl's Revolting rhymes and then we will have fun writing our own twisted fairy tales. Our theme this term is Explorers and we will be studying the Tudors, finding out about the royal family, the type of food they ate, the clothes they wore and Tudor artefacts. We will be studying Africa, comparing our countries and exploring their culture looking at art and music. we will be visiting Welsh water where the children will have the African village experience.

In Maths we will be continuing with number work and the various measures. We will be learning more about fractions and decimals, money and time.

We will be doing gymnastics in our P.E. lessons this term and the children will need black shorts and a white t-shirt every Thursday.

Please continue to read regularly with your child as well as doing spellings and practising tables and number work. Regular practice in all theses areas definitely aids your child's progress. Could you also please help your child to do his/her homework tasks to the best of their ability. Many Thanks

Fe fyddwn yn cael hwyl wrth ddarllen hiwmor Roald dahl wrth ddarllen ei Revolting rhymes ac wedyn yn cael cyfle i ysgrifennu twisted fairytale ein hunain. Ein thema yw Glanlanwyr ac fe fydd cyfle i astudio'r Tuduriaid, y teulu brenhinol, y math o fwyd a dillad ag offer oedd ganddynt yn y cyfnod hwnnw. Fe fyddwn yn edrych ar Affrica yn ein astudiaetau Daearyddol ac yn gwneud cymhariaeth o'n bywyd ni a'u bywyd nhw a sut mae eu diwylliant nhw yn gyfoethog trwy wrando ar gerddoriaeth traddodiadol ac edrych ar eu gwaith celf ag ati. Fe fydd trip i Ddwr Cymru i ymweld a'r African Village yn cael ei trefnu.

Yn ein setiau mathemateg fe fyddwn yn parhau gyda gawaith rhif ac yn ymchwilio i fesuriadau amrywiol ac yn gwneud mwy o waith ar gasglu a darllen data ffracsiynau ag arian ag amser.

fe fyddwn yn gwneud gymnasteg yn ein gwesi ymarfer corff ac fe fydd angen crys t gwyn a siorts du ar gyfer ein gweri pob Dydd Iau.

Parhewch i ddarllen yn rheolaidd gyda'ch plentyn ag i ymarfer sillafu a dysgu tablau. mae ymarfer cyson adre yn bendant yn gwneud gwahaniaeth i gynnydd eich plentyn ar draws y cwricwlwm. Hefyd gallwch sicrhau bod gwaith cartref yn cael ei gwneud i safon da os gwelwch yn dda.
