Gobeithio fod pawb yn barod am dymor da o waith unwaith eto. Ein thema y tymor yma fydd 'Glanlanwyr'. Yn ein gwersi Iaith fe fyddwn yn astudio Stori Sioncyn y Gwair a'r morgrugyn ac yn dysgu sut i wella ein sgiliau ysgrifennu yn Gymraeg. Ag yn Saesneg byddwn yn dysgu am elfennau gwahanol iaith trwy astudio Fairytales.

Fe fydd ein gwersi hanes yn ymwneud ag Oes Y Tuduriaid. Fe fyddwn yn dysgu am bobl enwog yr Oes gan gynnwys Y Teulu Brenhinol ac am fywyd pobl cyffredin eu cartrefi, eu dillad a'u bwyd.

Yn Naearyddiaeth fe fyddwn yn canolbwyntio ar Africa ac yn gwneud cymhariaeth a gwlad yno o'r enw Lesotho a Chymru. Fe fyddwn yn dysgu am y nodweddion daearyddol yn arbennig.

Fe fydd yna Wythnos Eco eleni eto Wythnos gyntaf Mis Chwefror a byddwn yn ymweld a safle Dwr Cymu yng Nghilfynydd i ddysgu mwy am bwysigrwydd Dwr a sut mae dwr glan yn dodo i ni ac yn dysgu am y Gylchred Dwr.

Yng Ngwyddoniaeth fe fyddwn yn dysgu ac yn ymchwilio fwyfwy i Gysawd yr Haul a'r lleuad Hefyd fe fydd 'na Wythnos Wyddoniaeth yr wythnos cyn hanner tymor.

Yn Addysg Grefyddol fe fyddwn yn astudio Iddewiaeth a Christnogaeth yn enwedig Gwyl y Pesach sydd yn digwydd adeg y Pasg. Yng Nghelf fe fyddwn yn edrych ar waith William Morris ac yn cysidro rhai o artistiaid Africa.

Y tymor yma fe fydd gwersi gymnasteg ynghyd a Gweithgareddau awyr agored wrth i'r tywydd cynhesu a gwella. Fe fydd ymarfer corff yn digwydd ar bnawn Dydd Mercher y tymor yma. Bydd disgwyl i blant cael eu dillad ymarfer corff yn yr ysgol bob Dydd Mercher.

Rydyn ni yn edrych ymlaen yn fawr iawn at astudio themau y tymor yma ac yn hyderus y bydd y plant yn parhau i wneud cynnydd da iawn ar draws y cwricwlwm.

Spring Term.

Welcome back.

I hope everyone is ready for a good season of work again. Our theme for this season will be Explorers. In our Language lessons, we will study the story of The Grasshopper and the Ant and will learn how to improve our writing skills in Welsh. In English, we will be learning about different aspects of language by studying Fairytales.

Our history lessons will be about The Tudors. We will learn about the famous people of the Age with particular emphasis on the Royal Family and also about the life of the ordinary people, their homes, their clothes and their food. We will be visit

In Geography, we will study Africa and make a comparison between Lesotho, a small country in Africa a similar size to Wales. We have a dedicated Eco week the first week in February when we will be learning more about water and how it can be treated and purified. We will learn about the water cycle during that week also. In Science, we will be learning about the Solar System, the moon and how our seasons are affected by them. we have a dedicated Science week the week before half term.

In Religious Education, we will study Judaism and Christianity, especially the Pesach Festival that corresponds with Easter this term.

This term there will P.E. lessons on a Wednesday afternoon when there will be gymnastics lessons and Outdoor activities as weather conditions warm-up and improve.

We are really looking forward to studying the themes of this season and confident that the children will continue to make very good progress across the curriculum. Thank you for your constant support over the past term. We look forward to the same level of support this coming term.

Ar ol cofrestri pob bore fe fydd y plant yn mynd i'w set Mathemateg ac yn cael eu dysgu yno tan amser chwarae y bore. Wedyn fe fydd sessiwn iaith yn digwydd ar ol chwarae. Mae gwaith adeiladu yn digwydd o Ddydd Llun tan Ddydd Mercher ac fe fydd gwaith awdur yn cael ei chyflawni ar Ddydd Iau a Dydd Gwener. Fe fyddwn yn astudio Chwedl Gelert yn ein wythnosau Cymraeg ac yn astudio cymeriadau mewn amrywiol lyfrau ar gyfer Ysgrifennu estynedig Saesneg y tymor hon. Fe fyddwn yn dysgu am natur a thirwedd Cymru yn Naearyddiaeth ac am yr 80au a'r 90au yn Hanes. Yng Ngwyddoniaeth byddwn yn dysgu am sut mae pethau yn gweithio.

Gwaith Cartref

Fe arfer fe fydd gwaith cartref yn cael ei osod yn wythnosol ar brynhawn Ddydd Gwener. Mae disgwyl i’r plant gwblhau'r dasg cartref a’i ddychwelyd yn ôl i’r ysgol erbyn bore Dydd Mawrth.

Hefyd, mae disgwyl i bob plentyn ddarllen o leiaf un neu ddwy o dudalennau o’i lyfrau darllen (Cymraeg a Saesneg) bob nos. Ni allwn bwysleisio ddigon y pwysigrwydd o ddarllen gyda’ch plentyn bob nos! Gallwch sicrhau bod eu llyfrau yn dod i'r ysgol ac yn mynd adre yn ddyddiol er mwyn i'r ymarfer i fod yn gyson yn y naill lle a'r llall. Hefyd, mae’n bwysig iawn i ymarfer tablau gyda’ch plentyn yn gyson a byddwn yn profi'r plant yn wythnosol ar rhain.

Addysg Gorfforol

Fe fydd gwersi Addysg Gorfforol yn digwydd bob pnawn Dydd Mercher. Y tymor yma, fe fydd y gwersi yn cymryd lle tu fewn – yn y neuadd ac fe fyddwn yn 'neud dawns. Fe fydd angen gwisg addas ar gyfer y sesiynau. Fel arfer, rydyn ni yn gofyn i ddisgyblion i wisgo crys-t gwyn (plaen) a siorts du. Does dim angen treinars.

I would like to take this opportunity to explain some of the arrangements for this term and to outline the work we will be completing.

Our Class

Welcome to The Junior Department. We are sure that your child will be happy at school and will continue to thrive in all aspects of their education.There are 26 Year 3 pupils in Telor-y-Cnau . We expect the children to work conscientiously and to be respectful of others in all that they do. The teachers in our class are Mrs Davies/ Mrs Tricker, Mrs Joll and Miss Thomas. Mrs Davies works in the class on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings and Mrs Tricker works on Thursday and Fridays.Miss Thomas will be assisting all week.

After morning registration the children go to their Maths sets and are taught there until morning playtime. A language session will then take place after play. Building work takes place Monday to Wednesday and Author work will be carried out on Thursdays and Fridays. This term we will study the Legend of Gelert in our Welsh weeks and study characters in various books for extended English Writing this term. We will learn about the nature and landscape of Wales in Geography and about the 80's and 90's in History. In Science we will learn about how things work.

Homework

Usually homework will be set weekly on a Friday afternoon. Homework is to be returned to school by Tuesday morning, please.

Pupils are also expected to read at least one or two pages of their reading books (Welsh and English) every night. We cannot emphasise enough the importance of reading with your child on a daily basis. Please ensure that their reading files are brought into school and taken home daily to enable them to practice both at home and at school.Please keep practising tables at home and we will be testing them on a regular basis.

Physical Education

Physical Education lessons will take place on Wednesday afternoons each week. This term the sessions will be inside, where we will be doing dance. Please ensure that pupils have a suitable kit for these sessions. As always, we encourage pupils to wear a plain white T-shirt and black shorts if possible. There is no need for any footwear.
